alligatorLocal book-lovers will be delighted to hear about Richmond’s most exciting new addition – The Alligator’s Mouth! This new independent children’s bookshop opened in March 2015 and offers a wide range of carefully chosen stock (from baby through to early adult) as well as expert advice and recommendations in a welcoming environment.

The shop is dedicated to finding the right book for your child at the right time and aims to reach all readers, from the confident to the beginner or the reading-resistant. The website also has book reviews, to help with inspiration for new reads.

The shop is founded by ex-members of the much-missed Lion and Unicorn bookshop. We’d like to wish them all the best in reviving the local children’s book scene and hope that The Alligator’s Mouth will become a well-loved part of the local community.

For those who rarely venture off Richmond high street, please make an effort to look out for it! The new shop is located just off George Street, on Church Court (a little alley close to Tesco, which runs towards the church yard of St Mary Magdalene Church.)

Storytime and More

foundersIn addition to selling books, they’ve also just started a round of story times for ages 2-6. These are themed around a selection of picture books and poems.
